XAT test is common admission test for Xavier Labour Research Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur and there are more than 60 Management Institutes who are selecting students from XAT 2010(View XAT Associate Institutes. The Xavier Labour Research Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur held the Xavier's Admission Test (XAT) 2010 for admission to its management programmes.

The exam held on January 3, 2010 at different locations all over India. XAT 2010 offers admission to the Two-year full time Business Management Programme, Two-year full time Personnel Management and Industrial Relations Programme, One year-full time General Management Programme for Working Executives and a Doctoral level (Ph.D.) Fellow Programme in Management. The exam is only first step towards taking the admission in the XLRI and other 60 institutes who accept this test score. In addition, a candidate has to undergo the selection process of the desired Institute to qualify for the admission to the Post-Graduate programmes of that Institute.

MAT - Frequently Asked Questions

Q. When & how many times MAT is conducted in a year? Qualification & percentage needed for it.

A. Mat is usually conducted 4 times in a year in February, May, September and December. The minimum qualification for appearing in MAT is graduation in any discipline from any recognized University or equivalent recognized degree. A final year student in any undergraduate (i.e. B.A, B.Sc., B.Com., B.Tech., etc) can also appear provisionally. Usually, there is a minimum percentage requirement in graduation, which is different for different MIs/University. For this refer to the prospectus of the particular MIs/University.

Next MAT date is 07, February 2010.

Q. How manyManagement Institutes participate in MAT. Do they keep on changing or remain the same? Is there a same admission criterion for each & every Institute? Are they recognized, by AICTE? Do they have hostel facility? What about the total fee?

A. The number of participating Management Institutes may vary. The number of MI’s keeps on changing from test to test. Admission criteria for every institute is different. All MIs participating in MAT are either AICTE approved or affiliated to some Universities, for further information you may contact the MIs/Universities of your choice. The list of various Management Institutes /Universities is available in MAT bulletin along with the admission notification. It may be worthwhile to go through the brochure of the Management Institutes for detailed information.
